Electricity Arrear Issues


This is for information of our esteemed consumers whose electricity connections are categorized under Commercial and High Tension Supply (HTS) categories that they have been short billed by the department for the billing period between April 2015 and December 2015 (9 months). This has been brought about due to delay in adoption of revised tariff for the year 2015-16 prescribed by SSERC and subsequently notified by the Government owing to certain technical reasons. While the revised tariff was to be enforced from April 2015, the eventual rollout happened only with effect from January 2016.

Since the unrealized revenue has to be collected, all the consumers who have been short billed will be charged with an arrear bill. The arrear amount will appear in the arrear column of their current monthly bill.

We would like to earnestly request our esteemed consumers to cooperate with the department and clear their outstanding as and when it gets reflected in their current bill so that the government revenue is realized.
